Most Loved Villains

Villians are conniving, evil, and are meant to be hated right? Wrong. Many TV-shows and movies would be nothing without the interesting and entertaining villains they have as characters. There is so much talk about the heroes so we decided to honor villains that we love.

Name: Katarina Petrova or Katherine Pierce

Origins: Vampire Diaries

If you watch vampire diaries you know that no one messes with Katherine Pierce. She is a 500-year-old vampire who will do anything to survive and we mean anything. She has killed people, made others kill people, ruined relationships, cursed people, possessed people, and neglect her daughter. She isn’t the best person to have as a friend but her sass and undying spirit makes us love Katherine.

Name: Aro

Origins: Twilight Saga

Sticking to the realm of vampires, here’s another bad one. His name is Aro. He is a lead member of the big bad Vampire club called the Volturi. Aro is a power hungry maniac with the ability to read every thought you’ve ever had.  He uses this power to seek information and find gifted vampires to join the Volturi. Although Aro is a pain we love his excited almost childlike nature and how determined he is to get what he wants.

Name: Klaus Mikaelson

Origins: Vampire Diaires, The Originals

Klaus Mikaelson is an original vampire. In the shows ‘Vampire Diaries’ and ‘The Originals’ that means that he was one of the first Vampires on earth. Basically Klaus is bad in every way. He loves his family but somehow still throws them into comas when they displease him. We love Klaus because of his sad life story and his ability to show emotion.

Name: The Joker

Origins: DC Comics: The Batman Series

The joker is the game playing villain of the Batman comics. The Joker’s goal is to create chaos for everyone and ruin the city of Gotham. He also hates Batman. He wants to either kill him or turn him to the dark side but mostly he wants to kill him. The Joker’s sadistic ways are part of the reasons why we love him. He uses theatrics to plan elaborate crimes. We love him because he is so passionate about what he does and he really does enjoy it.

Name: Cruella De Ville

Origins: Disney 101 Dalmatians

Cruella De Ville is a fur-wearing maniac from the Disney series 101 Dalmatians. She is intent on killing and skinning little Dalmatians. We love her because she is evil and stylish. She looks crazy and ugly but somehow she thinks she is the best thing since sliced bread. There is no kookier villain than Cruella De Ville.

Name: Robert Mugabe

Origins: Real life

Robert Mugabe or Uncle Bob as many know him by is the president of Zimbabwe. Many can say he is a villain in many ways. When he first came into power, he kicked out the white farmers from Zimbabwe, he allowed Zimbabwe go into a state of hyper inflation (shout out to my Zimbabwean billionaires that couldn’t buy bread), and he has been in power for 34 years. Mugabe represents many things that is wrong with Africa but in many ways he contributes to our entertainment. Definitely leaders like Mugabe should not arise again but he has fostered many jokes and given people something to laugh about.
